Hey all I'm researching an art installation project for a mate of mine.

He needs to be able to automate extreme tempo changes and crossfades on field recordings from nature as if he were slowing down and super -speeding tape, going from say 4 percent of project tempo to 4000 %. At the same time he'd like to output those percentages to a seven segment LED screen so the display is always reflecting what is happening to the audio.

EG. First audio file starts at 100% and at a certain point slows down to 8%. This then crossfades with a new audio file playing at 100%....which in turn speeds up to 2000% before crossfading into a new file at 100% etc.

Does anyone know if it's possible to engineer something like this in Max ?

Thanks

Tim

If you don't get a reply here, try posting a message in Cycling 74's forum. It's much more active and there are a lot of resources on that website too.
