"Wind" for noise is superb.
Would have been "Schietwetter" for a hamburgian synth.
For an austrian synth it could have a bit more Schmäh.
Oh man, I love this! _________________ --

i should have asked first, i see. although MULTIPLE is a compromise due to the space i had for the writing. Amplitude seems german enough to me, although your suggestions are better. i think i will change that.

One of my first contributions here! I've been building kits in Eurorack format, and slowly designing my own circuits. My goal is to have my whole system DIY.
Here's a few from Barton Musical Circuits.
Thanks for all of your inspiration and help and an awesome community!

This is Tom Gamble's Electronics For Musicians 3046VCO, laid out by me. About as simple as it gets, really.
Yves Usson's Steiner Parker VCF (my layout.) Not quite as simple. Lots of fun, though.
Thanks to both original designers |

Latest addition: a module I've called Second String. Basically an 8 step sequencer with three separate outputs, each step of which is independently controllable to put out between 0 and 16 semi-tones of CV. Intended to allow chords to be built using 3 or 4 VCOs (one to supply the root note, either 2 or 3 for the notes of the chords). Alternatively, one output can control a separate VCO, eg as a bass, in the attached sample.
Rats nest of wiring as you can see. And as for the panel - that's 24 4-way DIP switches, and 96 resistors!

That's a pretty neat idea!
I'm frightened to ask how long wiring it up must have taken, though |

A fair few hours
Actually, debugging was the worst part. All those resistors and wires soldered to a small piece of stripboard = plenty of opportunity for shorts. Also, I had some msyterious errors in voltages which I finally tracked down to the residue from the no-clean solder, forming a resistance in parallel with my supposedly matched 100k's. |

Thanks! Yes, I like FPE, after getting over the learning curve part of their design program. Kind of expensive, but the results are great, so it's worth it.
Haven't checked in here in a while, and forgot to post this here -

So, what did you spend your weekend on?
The synthcube box arrived Friday, and I got a case of the enthusiasms.
Some problems arose.
One, Gate Bus 3 didn't work. A bit of time with the multimeter and the cable charts from the original build doc, and I found that stabbing one of the crimped connectors hard with a screwdriver fixed it.
Two, 4 Oct won't bloody calibrate. Oh well, I don't care. I'll use the variable range for that.
Three... my ghetto diy case has now run out of room |
