This morning there was an awesome noise from outside when some workers were walking around on a steep roof on the building opposite of my bedroom window, taking roof tiles and discarding them into a plastic bin held by a crane on the sixth floor. When the bin was full, the crane lowered it to street level were it was emptied with a crashing sound, then back up again. The first tiles thrown into the empty bin made a spectacular sound.

There's a distinct echoing going on between the house buildings due to the fact that the house that I live in is shaped like a big U. Together with the opposite building (that they are changing the roof on) it forms a rectangle, broken by the street passing between the houses.

Took a picture. You can see the workers dressed in bright yellow on the roof to the left. Pretty steep roof and I couldn't see any safety lines, I hope they know what they are doing... no no

Yeah the delay... Smile

One wonders what it would sound like if I played a synth through an amp with decent wattage, placed the amp where they are hauling roof tiles and recorded it with my mic like this. I guess I would have to move away from town afterwards, but it could be worth it! Twisted Evil
