Anyone know a good light-weight hardshell case for the G2X?

I have an SKB case. It's injection molded plastic, with rollers, and key-locks. I don't think a lighter case can be made in this size. It has customizable foam core insterts, with "eggshell" type foam on the top...which leaves room for cables inside the case.

I only have the G2, but nobody makes a readily available hard case in it's size...so I purchased the smallest one. But this has room for both my G2 and an MPC1000. I think it would fit a G2X nicely...check the sizes to match your G2X.

One other benfit it has, is that grooves in the shell fit my X-stand. This is good, since I can use the case as a table-top, with my laptop next to the G2. Your mileage may very with this.

Thanks for your input. I think I asked a similar question months ago - about G2, but I couldn't locate that thread. Crying or Very sad

I'll check out the SKB.

I bought this one from AudioMidi:

http://www.audiomidi.com/common/cfm/product.cfm?pid=6331

It has wide velcro straps that hold the keyboard snug.
I put on the styro end pieces that the g2x was shipped with, and
it keeps the board suspended from shocks. The case is
wider than the board, so leaves room for microphone,
sustain pedal, cables, and other gadgetry.

Audiomidi will match prices and is keen to any negotiation.

Do you know its catalogue number? I want to get a hard case for my G2 (no X but like you say, the spare room is handy for cables etc.).
I'm guessing it's this...

I think I've posted this before, but I had a custom case for my G2 made here:
http://www.keyboardcases.com/

It fits perfectly, and was about $200.

I also had a custom case for my G2, it was about $150 including shipping.

Dear Mr. Rat (just liked the way that sounds)

That's not the one. I have this:
http://www.skbcases.com/product/musical_instrument/keyboards/skb-4214w.html

Those grooves you see in the plastic line up with my X-stand, which seems to make it a little more stable (than a flat case would be). I use bungee cords to strap the stand and my footpedal to the case for transit. (1 lless trip to the truck).

JK, I ordered that one from Musicians Friend. Looks like just the trick.

I'll check out these options. Seem to be lots of custom case co's in the US, not so many in the UK,

For UK G2 users looking for a hard case, I just got my custom-made hard case for my G2 from www.dolphinmusic.co.uk. £89
Seems pretty well built and a good fit.
