I have a problem with the chord switches on my omnichord. I have tried stripping the PCB down and cleaned it and the pads down with De-Oxit, bu that didn't work, so I tried rubbing a pencil on the underside of the pads, but again that didn't work. If I wiggle them they are still OK, or do a dead short on the PCB with a screwdriver, bu I think that they have just become worn and need a bit of help. Any ideas please?

First thing I would do is go over the contacts with a q-tip & isopropyl alcohol in case any eraser gunk is hanging on. If that doesn't help, there is a contact repair mixture (I think it's conductive epoxy maybe?) that MCM Electronics sells. It's over 20 bucks for a small amount, and it doesn't keep, so if you have anything else that could use some membrane repair, do it all at the same time.

Thanks, yes I have already tried the IPA trick, and that revealed that the carbon had indeed worn away. Thanks for the idea about the repair kit I had a similar reply on another forum, but the guy there said that due to the very small contact area on the omnichord switches his repair only lasted a few months. I have found that you can still buy replacement switch membranes for £20 and these should last 10 years so I think I will probably end up choosing that, but thanks again, much appreciated.
