I've built it, I don't think it's terribly complicated. Biggest hassle IMO was assembling the case Smile

Then again, I did have to get a Bus Pirate to program it; despite assurances that it was doable by repurposing another Arduino, I couldn't get that method to work.

I think I may have misunderstood your question.

I used the MI Module Tester design. The internal chip is an ATMega. The design is on github, as Olivier makes all his designs open source after a period of time. You can submit the gerbers to a fabrication house (such as OSHPark) and get your own PCBs made, then build it per the instructions at the MI site.

Are you asking if making your own design is complicated? I would say not especially complicated, but it's not a trivial software job either.

i know that. i mean just to make a similar module tester based on arduino board - not using the MI design. i would like to build an entire concept using an arduino module.

I see. I thought you were asking how complicated the MI implementation was. Smile

The Bus Pirate is a general programmer that's useful for many platforms.

https://www.sparkfun.com/products/12942

Unfortunately it appears to be out of stock at SparkFun and at AdaFruit.

Here's a project page with some other possible sites that might have it in stock: http://dangerousprototypes.com/docs/Bus_Pirate
