Hi,

This started out with the need for a bassy texture. Then I read an article in Grooves magazine on drones. And I wonder if this one might qualify. They talked a lot of overtones, which isn't exactly a feature in my patch.

Anyway, there are four variations, if you'd like to add some - please do and upload a new version of the patch here.

Cheers,
Mikael

Three-by-Drone.pch2
 Description:
A drony bass texture. Based on three parallell 2 osc/dual filter synths. Pan, tuning, filter and volume are modified by LFOs. Valuable parameters (for programming) are assigned to knobs. Enjoy!

Yes, this is definitely a drone. Very Happy

Drone is a pretty loose term. The 5th string on a 5-string banjo is called a drone even though it is just a "ping" when plucked. It's a drone because it plays the same note throughout the performance while the other strings change pitch by being fretted. So, but this analogy, even variation 3 is a drone, IMHO.

Fine patch, nice to play with, good knob assignments.

And filed as a drone too Smile

Thank you very much Wan. Glad you enjoyed it! Very Happy

With all this feedback, maybe I should try building one with evolving overtones... Has no clue as how to go about it. But I might as well try.

Regards,
Mikael
