could anyone please direct me towards something i can read on simple ASR/function designs with independently voltage controlled rise/fall parameters?

What do you mean by ASR/function ?

I have a suspicion you mean something like the Serge DUSG, or Makenoise Maths.

You may want to look into the Befaco Rampage -- they have the schematic on their website. It has independant VC rise and fall.

Sorry to disagree, it´s actually one of the hardest circuits to understand and troubleshoot... No problem if your looking for a challenge.
