I convinced my friend to use Wren.

However using it in Linux with Wine, when he saves to disk the file size seems about right, but there is only 1 second of sound in it, even if he saves 2 minutes.

Anyone know solution?

Could you post such a wav file here with an estimate of how long it should be (music wise), I'll have a look at it then.

Ok, it is not playable indeed, although there is actual content. Did a quick inspection on the file header and that does not look too unreasonable ... will need to try some other tricks to check it .. will come back on it.

Ok, it looks like a valid wave file to me with a length of 639 ms .. the header looks fine, the file size of 111 kB matches an amount of audio of about that length ( 111000 * 1024)/ (4 * 44100) -> 644 ms. .. so more or less the same.

How long was this recording supposed to be?

I think I remember him saying about 1 or ½ a minute. Not 100% sure.

Ok, well .. as the file seems completely valid I can draw no other conclusion than that all data was written to it and all data was saved .. so maybe there is an issue with measuring the amount of time .. but beats me, sorry.

It was recorded by setting a duration? Or was it just stopped after a while - in the latter case - disk recording is not real time and the process priority is set back to background priority, which may cause things to be very slow in Wine.

I talked to him, and he said he think he pressed run after instructing it to write to disk. So if he pressed run or something else before writing has finished could that have caused it?

Yes, that would stop the recording.
