Hi

I’m returning to some stripboard 808 voices I built from -minus-'s amazing work (here http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-54826.html) and want to replace my solder tag pots with various through hole pots mounted on a single custom PCB. I’m having trouble finding 2MB pots in the form factor I want (this https://www.thonk.co.uk/shop/alpha-9mm-pots/)

Does anybody know of a source for 2MB pots in that format or …

What would the impact be of changing the two 2MB pots for 1MB pots? The pots in question are hi-hat decay and cymbal decay.

Thanks
Jim

i would just try it, sometimes this big values dosent make sense,
ive build a 808BD, cLap and HH, and i still have the only 2M Pot that ife ever bought (for that reason) in the component case.
But cant check it directly for u, cos they are at home and iam far far away for longer time.

otherwise you could also use a fixed 1MOhm Resistor in serie and a switch to short it out

cheers, gabbagabi

I asked this somewhere else not long ago, and it was recommended to try a dual 1M, and then wire it as 2 rheostats in series. This lets you swing from 0 to 2M.
