Hi there,
Anyone care to share their thoughts on the best way to connect one PCB at a right angle to another? Such as for connecting voice boards onto a host board, etc. Pin headers or edge connectors seem to be the obvious choice. I'm looking for both structural integrity and longevity. Perhaps anyone who's done repairs to vintage gear has some insight regarding what works and what breaks.
Cheers

Personally I think that getting structural integrity from just a connector is a bad idea.
Look at PC's being old or new: they always used some kind of mechanical guide for the pcb's and card-edge or whatever type of connectors just for the electric connectivity.

Agreed, there would need to be another form of mechanical support aside from the connector. Might be ok if the boards are very tiny.

Even memory boards in a laptop have supports...
