Hi I have been using tidal cycles and supercollider for a few weeks and everything has been fine. went to fire everything up today and supercollider will not boot! I tried reinstalling, cleaning setup files, removing packages I installed last night. rebooting, running sclang as root, tried to find a rogue sever process or other process that could be blocking the server. NO DICE!

Here is my terminal output:

Code:

$ jackd -r -d alsa -r 44100
jackdmp 1.9.12

from here I start sclang:

Code:

I obviously tried the above link which is not helpful at all. If I run everything as root it says it cant find jack!!

Here is a little more about my system:
Ubuntu 18.04

Please let me know if you need more info. Thanks for reading!

I really don't know much about the software involved .. so just guessing really ... but looking at the dumps you posted it looks like there is a sample rate issue.

It also looks like you could tell jack to use 48000 s/s .. ($ jackd -r -d alsa -r 48000 ) so I would try to set that and see what happens then .. maybe the SuperCollider server can be set to a different sample rate too, but such is not obvious from the dumps you posted.

Oh and welcome of course to the forums.
