and subscribed. The link on the other thread still points to muffs. Based on what I read in the last day, MW sounds like its done so might as well make this the new home |

Cool. Maybe this leads to being here more often than in the last few years.
On topic: I stuffed the boards with the parts I had laying around, have to order 1 capacitor, the power transformer and the switches. Hopefully I'll finish it next weekend.
Keep on the good work!

I second Janne's recommendation for MIDI LEDs on the back of the PCB for visibility when installed. I also installed the Pitch Bend Range resistors like this, in case I change my mind later.
The TurboCPU has settings that can be changed via MIDI as well as power-up key-combinations. So be careful. DON'T LEAVE THINGS ON THE KEYBED WHEN YOU TURN THE SYNTH ON. Your DMM could alter your settings. It's all in the manual!
I have my unit mostly working. I haven't plugged in the Pitch Bend or Mod wheels and wasn't getting any modulation (direcct), but the Seq and Arp were working so I know the LFO is OK. Sound is more or less working like a horribly uncalibrated machine would. I have not done the MIDI jacks yet. No doubt I've screwed something up though. Oh, and my power supply is running in alligator clip mode
I'm super impressed with the project overall! Quality is fantastic. Really very few bugs or issues. Seems like the previous discussion was just BOM fixes. I don't think I've found any bugs or issues and in fact the only thing I found odd was the wording used for wiring up the 1/8" CV/Gate stuff.
I remember opening the Mouser boxes and feeling sorry for the guy picking and packing all those resistors. This project is way bigger than it looks like. So, again very impressive considering also how fast Devin cranked this out. Less than 6 months from when he mentioned it casually to me. I can't imagine the amount of hours it took to make this happen. |

I had just enough time at the weekend to make some synth noises!
I just wired audio out and all 5 CV's. Didn't bother with MIDI as it was sound I was after in the time I had
The "noise" didn't work, but from what I can see, that is because the audio in jack isn't there yet, and is normally close.
I think I may need to troubleshoot my low output, but since I haven't calibrated it properly yet I suppose it could be a non issue (seems to be pitched very high too). LFO works. SEQ and ARP didn't seem to do anything, but I didn't have time to look into that - should they work with no MIDI and no keybed?
Yes indeed - good idea on the MIDI LED's.
Happy to have sound on the first go....paranoid about scratching that gorgeous case Last edited by Sparky74 on Mon Apr 22, 2019 1:39 pm; edited 1 time in total |

The low output could also be filter and envelope settings. It's easy to get little or no output out of these beasts. Assuming the LFO is making it to the CPU then the Seq and Arp should work. |
