Hello,

for my LDB-1se I need a DC-to-DC-Converter TC1044. Not easy to source here in Germany. I read somewhere that the LT 1054 could be used as an replacement. Is it a drop-in or have I to change the circuit?

greetings

Boerge

LMC7660 which has slightly less good parameters, but might be good enough for your purpose.
Just check the schematics.

Thank you for the hint - 7660 seems to fit the needs, and is available via reichelt.de (and much cheaper than the LT1054 Smile )

There are a few of those chips. MAX1044 is one that springs to mind.

The things to be careful of are maximum current, voltage, and also the switching frequency. (Some chips need two pins bridged to lift the frequency above audio range, other chips have the switching freq stuck in audio range... always check the datasheet.)

The MAX1044 has a BOOST pin that raises the oscillator frequency above
the audio band and reduces external capacitor size requirements.

Beware of overvoltage with the MAX1044 /ICL7660: +10V input and it's blown.
The LT1054 is far more reliable for "around" +9V operation.
Also the switching is at a higer frequency on the 7660s which makes it acceptable for audio applications.
