Hi all

With the re-issue of most CEM chips I thought I would make a new Digisound voice card as its about the only module I dont have

http://www.digisound80.co.uk/digisound/modules/80-C9.htm is the link

It seems to work when first powered up but after about 30 seconds it starts to go quiet and distorted on the final output
I have done my usual checks and as normal can find no mistakes, that does not mean there is none !! I just cant find any

Its a self etched board and I have used all the listed components apart from the polycarbonate capacitors as I have substituted with polyester ones of the same value

Has anyone made one of these or has any other info on it?

Thanks

First I would check supply source and lines. What are your voltage regulators? Small or large? Do they heating much? Check with your finger - if they are so hot you cannot touch they may go into current limiting mode, so the measured voltage may be OK but output current not.
I have similar case with other bad designed circuit: +5V voltage regulator was too small (78L05) to required current (about 100mA) and after few minutes was so hot it failed to output any current (although output voltage was still +5V).
