Ordered a digital reverb. Subject description: transform into eurorack |

So I ordered this:
digital reverb
It uses a PT2399 and has a microphone input.

For the voice maybe it will be good but I don't like PT2399 reverb.
I've built (perhaps the PT2399-end-of-evolution-line) eurorack reverb module from Synthrotek ("verb") having 3 x PT2399s and although it has deep heavy sound, sound quality is not I would expect. |

You're better off working up a circuit with a Belton Brick -- one PT2399 doesn't cop a good reverb. (The brick has 3 internally, SMD.) Tom Whitwell from Music Thing Modular has developed a reverb module that can use either the brick, or a traditional spring tank.

(There is a version 3 brick that has stereo out, and adjustable decay. I linked v2 as most designs out there use this. Brian Neunaber had design input for this series, IIRC.) |

No frequency range in datasheet and somehow limited dynamics for ver 2 and 3 suggests rather guitar-oriented delays, not synthesizer. But you can say this about every PT2399-based module, so time to move to DSP-based delays, I think. |

I already have designed and built a module with 3 PT2399's

I've forgotten about this one. Very nice design.
But youtube demo is not very helpful - better is to play some sequence without delay first and with delay next (although it requires more work perhaps) to compare differences. Additional effects are only obscuring delay impact on final sound. |
