Hey everyone!

What's the best way to work with non-tempered tuning systems on the Nord Modular (G1) like Just Intonation, Pythagorean, Quarter Tones etc.?

Is there a way to somehow implement .scl or .kbm files? I know there is a way for the G2 but haven't found a solution for the G1 yet.

Also how would you suggest manually designing custom tunings?

Let me know if you have made any experiences with this topic yet!

Cheers!

(:

G2 patch files: 38

Hi dichodichodicho,

Rob Hordijk posted few exemples (pythagoreanC3.pch & pythagoreanC4.pch) for G1 a long time ago. 1 slave osc for each keyboard note. Factor relative to the root note (X 0.1250, X 0.2500, X 0.3333, etc..). I probably still have these patches somewhere. I remember few patches from differents G1 users too.

The solution for the G2 to implement .scl files is working fine but not for Just Intonation and Pythagorean tuning. Pitch input resolution is not precise enough to get accurate ratio / whole number (ex:no phase on fifths). As mentioned in other discussions, the FM input available on some modules offer a more flexible resolution if needed. Then it's easier to fine tune each note.

Good luck and happy tuning!
