hi all DIY-people

this schematic editor is easy to use and the "schematic page to bitmap" option is great if you want to publish your schematics on web.

Posted Image, might have been reduced in size. Click Image to view fullscreen.

for the moment its only for Windows platform but if you want to make it run on your platform. the source code is available

I really wish I had a PC. I've emailed Ray Wilson to ask if there is a possibility of an OSX version- which there isn't, but he's willing to release the source code to anyone who wants to develop it for the Macintosh. (I wouldn't know where to start). Anybody interested?

go to the download page now. its totally free

electro-music.com forum will soon supports SP´s .spt component library files
so if you have drawn some new components you can share them here

thanks to Ray for this great soft

Dnny- its great that you have put this up here- cheers. But, the voting system discriminates against me (and others? bbob??) because I don't have a PC. I would very much like to be able to use this software- as it is good for the list (educational value)- rather than having to use different software- and getting into a mess because of incompatibility between software/platform.

Apart from things like Eagle (which also needs the X11 server to run it), there is very little (if none at all) schematic design freeware or shareware utilities availible for the Mac OSX platform. Which is a shame because OSX is such a good OS.

The eagle? X11. That should be just fine on OS X. I lost my direct URL to that software.

I don't use anything, but I downloaded this today and I think it is excellent. I'm going to learn it so I can post schematics on the forum. It's better than long verbal descriptions. Maybe, we can post questions on on how to use this software here on this topic. I already have several, but I think I should read the help file before bothering people.

This software might work on the OSX Windows emulation. Maybe.

What? OSX windows emulation on a very old G4 500mHz?? You got to be kidding :D

X11 server is a Unix thing http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/x11formacosx.html . I've seen a similar type of thing for PC/Linux. The developers of Eagle have been lazy and haven't ported the software over to the Mac properly.

Although it works (okay), the interface on the Mac is very PC- which I don't like at all. But as the saying goes, "We've been trying to invent the wheel, but we can't work out what colour it should be?"!

X11 is quite OK. Perhaps I am stuck in my oldish ways, but I am kinda used to everything running in X11. However, some X11 dependant apps might have a very crude and oldish interface.
I forgot that link to the Eagle software site. Do you have it?

I feel you there v-un-v I don't have a comp. as well. Sucker broke on me. It wasn't that great anyway, but probably good enough to start using scem software and learning to make layouts. Anyway this is more just to ask this-

If the above link is web treason please delete. It is meant as an example Embarassed

Yes, Daniel, you can edit the poll yourself. Just view your first post to this topic and click on the edit button. You can always edit your own posts. Somethings people don't appreciate it, but it's good to update bad information or to take out something that in hindsight wasn't really a great thing to write.

Please let me know if you have any trouble with this.

That galley is quite cool. I think they may be using Mambo software. Elektro80 and I are looking at integrating that into this site, but it will take some time to do it. In the meantime. If you want to post schematics, just use the attachment mechanism. If we get a bunch of them and it if is needed, I can hack together something similar to the media page, http://electro-music.com/mp3media.php or the g2 patch archive page, http://electro-music.com/g2patches.php

i appreciate this option a lot because i get stupid typing mistakes all the time so i can always go back and fix them- if i spot them.

the SpellCheck option rocks - but some times it doesn't know the right words - well maybe its time for me to go back to school

but i can´t get to edit the poll Sad

whats wrong whit me ?

Dnny. You don't get an EDIT button on the upper right of your first post to this topic?

I know this is an old thread but this seems like the most appropriate one to post my question.

What ever happened to "Schematic Publisher".
I cant find it on Ray's website, all the links i find are dead.

Was it taken down for some reason?
Is there anywhere I can download it from anymore?

Hi,

digging in my archive I found a ZIP-File with the SchematicPublisher from January 2004. It is ~600kB, pm me, if you still need it. But I would recommend using another design program, there are enough free ones with a lot more capabilities, you could try KiCAD or the free version of Eagle.

regards

Boerge
