Hello again.

What on earth is the 'THIS' option that you can get on the Chan(nel) parameter on the MIDI modules for??? Well, I think I know what is was meant for (and it's a very good idea).... but I can't get it to work no matter where I put the send and recieve modules!! And to make matters worse, there is no, or very little information about it in either the pdf or 'online' manuals!!!!!

I'm getting tired of forgetting to tell people that a patch I've uploaded needs to be in a certain slot to work, and then having to go back and edit the post to include this vital information. Wink

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

"This" does work but not like you (and most others) expect it to work. It binds to the midi channel associated with the the slot the patch is in (which coan be a usefull option as well I guess).

There have been requests already sent out to Clavia to make a new option (maybe called "self") that can be used to send midi to the patch itself (to make it slot independent).

For now what works best for me is to make everything (that uses internal MIDI comunication) a performance instead of a patch and use the channel A .. D routings. At least you wont have to tell people (or yourself !) what slot the thing must go in. But still when you want to move something to another slot it's a ain - I/O module colouring helps a bit here.

I see a big need in some changes in the midiout structure...
I think its necessary to have also a global tag in the midiout modules , and a patchsetting where you can select the cannel for all modules in one go (inkl.self) and!
switch patch midiout globaly off...
This is really essential because i came along big problems with the midiout capability of the g2 in studio situations...
you need to switch midiout off to prevent certain recording situations from beeing trashed up with unwanted mididata from this little backround noise in slot D...
In situations where no editor is around this can be quite some hazzle to get rid of this unwanted midi data
A performance instrument have to be able to handle such situations without the editor.
