And lastly,
here is a pic of a cool little box I found today.
I'm planning on building the smallest SL ever into it.
It's real aluminium framing, and the clear plastic is only about 2-3mm thick, but very tough.
The whole thing contained nothing more than a couple of lipglosses for little girls (they've gone to Felicity and Indigo) and cost AU$10
I couldn't believe such a perfect case would turn up so cheap!! Very Happy

Nice!

I'm still looking for one myself. I was told to use one of those red plastic lunchboxes from the 1980s. Something with the A-Team or Knight Rider on it...

Hey OPG, you could check out a company called "Harbor Freight", they have a lots of stores across the US.

www.harborfreight.com

They sell lots of cheap tools and whatnot, but they also have some cases for good prices, like this one:

They're lined with a 1/4" of foam rubber, and they're rock solid for the $$.

Hey, that IS a good deal! I'm only working on the Weird Sound Generator now (my first project ever), but I plan on building the bigger Sound Lab next. I like the case!

The WSG is incredibly tiny, possibly smaller than a cigar box. This is good, because I would be able to afford more expensive raw materials (strange plastics and metals) from McMaster-Carr because I won't need much at all. But I still like the idea of gutting an old toy and using it as the case. That's what yard sales are for!

Yeah,
the toystore near us has some big plastic Sci Fi laser guns. The soaker's have heaps of room for circuitry to.
