Streaming tonight - need help testing |
|
|
We are going to be do some shoutcast streaming tonight. This will test our ability to better stream live performances and playlists in the future. We aren't quite ready for prime time with this yet. We can use your help to see if things will work with the server and software.
At about 7 PM US Eastern time we'll be streaming a rehearsal of me, Greg and Juli as we prepare (sort of) for a performance on Saturday night that the Philadelphia Fels Planetarium.
Here is the link you can use to listen:
http://darwin.electro-music.com:8050
To let us know how things are working, please connect up to the chat room. If you can't use the java applet because you are on an Apple, try setting your chat software to:
irc.blitzed.org
port 6667
channel #electro
Before the rehearsal I'll be streaming some G2 noodles and noises to keep things going and I should be on the chat room. I'm actually streaming now.
Thanks in advance.
(If you can't get on the chat room, leave a message here.) _________________ --Howard

I dunno, is it supposed to sound like scraping and bubeling? In that case it works.
(DeMuDi Debian, Firefox, Alsa player, static I.P. behind a firewall.) I'm getting mp3 22KHz, stereo, 64Kbit, no hickups. _________________ Kassen |

It plays fine in iTunes. Seriously relaxing blips and quaks here! _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Logged on over orc, i think....
Tricky. the program defaulted me to login "ghost" which I use as my user login here but that one was recerved and all sorts of errors popped up.
Anyway, I seem to be logged int here but no actual chat is going on, is that right? _________________ Kassen |

I tried quicktime and that went fine but the program had changed. Went back to winamp and it was fine as well. Winamp was better sound quality.
Hope you have a great night on Saturday. |

Thanks everyone for the help and good wishes.
We were streaming at 64 kbs stereo. Elektro80 recorded it at home. I've uploaded the final run-through here: http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-8038.html
This technology works pretty well. We are going to do more of these. If anyone would like to stream a concert or jam session (electro-jam) please let us know. _________________ --Howard
