This is beautiful- way better than anything by TD or KS. ( I really don't like Klaus Shulze. Boring prog nonsense!) |

Right now I'm listening to 'Vuh' from "In den garten Pharoas"- an absolute masterpiece. |

I knew I'd get into trouble sooner or later. Yes boring nonsense (IMO). But when you listen to 'Vuh' by Popul Vuh- which goes so much deeper than anything by TD or KS or JMJ etc. These latter musicians (IMO) just sound like something off a Klaus Wunderlicht recording!!!
IMO= In my Opinion!!!
PS- we're now at the stage in Vuh, with the Turkish cymbals, percussion, mantra voices, Moog synthesizer and sustained cathedral Organ drone- those uninitiated about Popul Vuh should be getting the picture :) |

There is a certain "Hugo Montenegro & His Orchestra" feel to the JMJ material, but Hugo was a far better musician.

I won´t send you a cute polar bear stuffed with C4 and ball bearings anytime soon.
Both Hoenig and Baumann managed to release very good material in the 70s. They actually tried to seriously compose some interesting pieces and both Romance 76 and Departure are still very impressive works.
But.. the 80s brought back the "bongos and brass". _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Too right!
Actually I do have a few Klaus Wunderlicht LP's- So I'd be lying if I said I didn't. "Moog 2000" is a classic cheesy wunderland! Best savoured in front of all Bed 'n' Breakfast's on Blackpool displeasure beach :D (you gotta dig "Krimoogulous" and KW's groovy rendition of "Summertime" is stomping :D )
Dick Hyman did some storming Moog easy listening too. (for all those who don't know, Dick Hyman (don'cha just lovvve that name?? ;) ) was responsible for many Woody Allen soundtracks as well as being the King demonstrator of early Lowrey Organ stuff. A good LP by Hyman is called "Moon Gas" and has been sampled to death- mainly by Tipsy back in the mid-90's. "The Eclectic Electrics of Dick Hyman featuring the MOOG synthesizer" is another. Oh yes- I've got them all :)
JMJ's 'Oxygene' is really just a rip off of 'Popcorn' by Gershon Kingsley ('realised' by "Hot Butter"- of course), but then again, the "Moog Indigo" LP- featuring the brilliant dancefloor Moog classic "E.V.A." is simply a rip-off of "Messe pour le temps" by Pierre Henry. It's all swings and roundabouts!
Hugo Montenegro also wrote "Moog Power"- which too is a sleazy-listening classic! |

Dick, Kurt and Hugo ( sounds like something out of a movie by Rainer Werner Fassbinder ) .. ! _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

maybe early + mid + late... I was listening to a double cd (it's a kind of "best of TD"), with different tracks taken from different records and live shows... I don't know much about TD... but I like more than one idea here and there along this two cds... |

A collection of TD material will quite probably contain a lot of pleasing stuff. Please ignore us.
