Hello again... I must admit that I'm a bit of an addict for my G2!

Here is another FX patch that I have been working on. USE SLOT A It is a stereo delay, ie. two seperate delay paths. Each path has the usual extensive filtering, shaping, panning, polarity and modulation options plus a novel 3-way feed back system. (See attached pic).

To aid hearing the FX, I have included a basic (uninspiring, but adequate) patch to play through the FX section. I urge you to try it with the audio inputs, as that's when it really comes alive.

To aid the control of the effect, I have set up the morph controls to change the essential parameters of both left and right channels together and added a few other modules to do the same for a few more parameters (not enough morph controls!) Also, I have set up different delay relationships on different variations, ie. 4:3, 2:3, etc., and set the individual feedback morph amount levels accordingly, so that the effect remains (even) stereo for as long as possible.

Variation 8 is set up for 'true' stereo operation, ie. the left delay line only recieves the left input, etc. The 'Left Input' and 'Right Input' modules switch between this mode and normal mode, but both must be switched for this mode to work/not work. The input signal on this variation is panned to give you an idea of how this effect sounds on stereo sound.

I feel that I should give a quick warning/explanation about the feedback system. Firstly, there are many modules within the feedback loop and each can affect the overall feedback level (so be carefull). Furthermore, in addition to the usual feedback, there are also two filter feedbacks. These have the effect of boosting the high/low frequencies, which make these frequencies more prone to sound in the delay feedback... be carefull with these if you like your ears! Shocked

Secondly, if you add resonance, it will reduce the overall level in the feedback loop, so there are LevAmp modules included to compensate for this.

Finally, I can't emphasize enough how good this effect can sound when you automate changes of parameters like the cutoffs, resonances, feedbacks, etc. If you don't have a sequencer, I'm sure you could patch something on the G2 to accomplish this.

Well, I think that's about all you need to know... if you're still actually reading this, then have fun. Very Happy

Sheridan

Yes, very cool. I wasn't impressed at all until I hooked up a microphone as the input. Lots of fun to change the variations on the fly. They change nice and smoothly - no nasty glitches. Cool
