Hi folks,
I'm actually in the endless struggle about what other synth to buy. I have owned, so far, a couple of Kurzweil K2500, a Yamaha DX-21, a Waldorf Micro Q, a Nord Micro Modular. The day i've bought my Modular G2X i've found, finally, a machine that can grant me hours of fun. Anyway, I ever search something new to play with. Just to fill my curiosity I've bought a couple of Korg MS, to feel the analog taste.. very kind machines but those babies require a lot of care.. so I've sold them. To fill my lack of sampled sounds, I've just bought a Korg Triton rack. Cute for acustic pcm sounds, but very weak for certain timbres... and it is very weak about modulation matrix.

Usually I don't use soft synthesizer. I feel more confortable with something more "material" to put my hands on... but just yesterday i've bought my first soft synth: Reaktor 5. Can't wait to explore this software deeply. I've tried the demo and it sounds awesome.

Anyway... my thirst of gear wasn't satisfied Razz
I'm still searching for something "special". Given those features, what synth do you suggest to me?

Feature list:
- Wide modulation matrix
- Good filters
- Polyphonic

Those are main features that MUST exists on a device I seek. Optionally, can be nice to have also Audio inputs, a lot of physical controllers (knobs, faders, slides, etc.), good fx section, delay lines.

Awaiting for your entries Very Happy
Thx,
Luca

How about the Alesis Andromedia A6. That's a beautiful instrument. If I could only have one, I'd keep the G2X, but the A6 is very special. We have an A6 forum here and it needs more activity. Laughing

Nah, I'd go for a 2nd G2 :-)

Otoh, this Evolver thingy that Rob demonstrated to me a while ago was very nice as well. We don't have aforum for that yet, but it would be a good forum for sure to have.

So I should listen to Andromeda ... ok, it's on the todo stack now.

yes, the evlover is a killer machine, and i was recomending it to people before i got the g2 engine...but at less than twice the price, there is infinite possibilities with the g2. i originally bought it to use with my windcontrollers, but everytime i plug it in, all i want to play with is step sequencer madness. the feedbacks and delays are tightly integrated in a way that other synths i've owned can't touch, and having separate (actual) vca's, vcf's, vco's for each channel (left and right) is also a somewhat unique approach. i know there are several "users" on this forum, but there are also other strong evolver communities out there that are well supported by "power users" (dtrippler).

i don't spend enough time with my evolver these days to offer much to an evolver forum myself.

I have the same state of mind. After a 3 year "bing" of gear lust, I finally decided that for each new piece of gear I bought, I'd sell 2 others. Not that I had a ton, but it was more than I was using. I've sold an Emu XL-7, MPC1000, Korg ES-1, and am still back-logged in selling off a Yamaha QY-70, ART StudioVerb II, and maybe an Electrix MoFX or my Layla24 interface..

Yes, what else to sell....
