Hi all,

I've found a calculation order or memory related bug I think.

The attached patch has the following Patch Load:

Cycles Memory
VA 25.7 96.1
FX 18.2 95.3

It contains 70 Midi CtrlSend Modules to remotely control a Waldorf Pulse synth.
However the last ten CtrlSend Modules (at the bottom of the FX section, colored green) are not sending out any midi from the G2 at all.

I've checked this on the activity lights on my motu interface and also via Max/MSP.. the other 60 are fine but these ten aren't sending any data out of the G2!

(this isn't due to some arbitrary 60 module limit on the CtrlSend module, I have created a patch containing just 70 CtrlSend modules and they all send midi fine)

Now here's some weird things,

1) Delete everything from the VA section and all the Green modules start outputting midi again.

2) if I add an extra CtrlSend Module to this patch that module works fine... the green modules however still do not function.

3) Move the green modules in the VA section into the column to the left, add a new module and then delete it again to force a recalc.. the green modules are now working and the modules marked in red stop working.

So I guess there is maybe a left to right priority in calculation order.

I'll probably send this through to Clavia. But if anyone wants to confirm this behaviour that would be cool.

Thanks

Steve

p.s. for all the Waldorf Pulse owners out there with a G2 this is a great patch! It has all the synth variables mapped to G2 knobs and makes editing the Pulse a dream, Including the 4 part modulation matrix. It hopefully will allow you to store presets as variables but I haven't tested this yet...

For everyone not on the NM Mailing list:

I've stumbled upon the same thing, but I do think it's a 60 MIDI-send limit.
The patch contains a LFO connected to 60 MIDI-CtrlSendModules,
MIDI-connected 60 Constant Modules. The movement of the knobs of the
constant modules is visible on the G2-Displays. Only the first 60 work, the
others don't. If I disconnect some, others will fill the gap, always 60
modules. But it's 60 per slot, so you can have control the rest from another
slot.
Attached the described patch.

I agree, it's generally best to let the machine count and guard its limits.

Thanks, Steve, for updating your original post so everyone can see the resolution of this.
