The Films of Guy Debord

Guy Debord, founder of the Situationist International and fomenter of the
May 1968 revolt in France, was also the creator of six tantalizingly
inaccessible films -- arguably the most important radical films ever made.
Following the still-unsolved assassination of the films' producer in 1984,
all of them were withdrawn from circulation for nearly twenty years.

Two years ago Debord's widow Alice asked Ken Knabb to make a new English
translation of Debord's complete film scripts, both for publication and for
use in subtitling the films. The scheduling of the films' rerelease has yet
to be determined, but the collection of translated scripts -- entitled
"Complete Cinematic Works" and published by AK Press -- is now available.
