|
|
hi ! i finish yesterday building mini-synth , but it is not working...
when i turn on , an click the Manual Gate button with Mode Gate an Repeat On , after some delay starts a loop click sound ( like on off sounds ... )
but nothing compares to what you people upload here ...
then i change the Attack-Release Env Generator section and it changes the
time of the loop , i have seen also others but they do not change the sound it self i only get click loop
list i have used :
for the LF442 i used the MC1458
for the LF444 i used the LF347
for the LM13700 i used the LM13600
for the MPF102 i used the BF256A
for the CD40106 i used the HEF40106BP
strip board version of sound lab !
i also checked all the components and wires etc...
strange ..
any one has a clue , were can i start ?
Thanks

The whip I tell you, the whip !
Those damned electrons, sometimes they simply refuse to move into the same direction for no good reason at all, you need powerfull tools for that and strong determination, impose your will ...
But removing shorts helps as well of course .. and indeed its not 100% yet ...
I hear no filter, I think ... _________________ Jan

Hi Pedro
The only thing I could say is that the BF256 and the HEF40106BP instead of the MPF102 and CD40106 works fine (I´m actually using both). I ´m not sure about the rest ,but datasheets look quite similar.
I think is better the LM13700 than the 13600... I hear no filter too
Take care about equivalences before getting mad re-checking ...
I´m sure about your Sound-Lab will be singing a whole lot better really soon
hope to be helpfull _________________ Have a nice day

It can actually take a little while to "get to know" the Soundlab and be sure of why it is or isn't making the sound you think it should be. It took me over a week to realise one of the switches was upside down. This is a good thing really, it's like getting to know a little person like a child. Just when you think you know what to expect, something new happens, and you're filled with awe all over again. _________________ What makes a space ours, is what we put there, and what we do there. |

Sorry to use this thread, but I hate wasting new threads.
I've got a question:
How can I use a SPDT switch for the power on-off. I have this REALLY nice idea, but to use it, I've got to come up with a way of making SPDT switch turn the power on and off. I don't think just disconnecting the ground will work. I've also got a few quad bilateral switches lying around, but I wanted to hear if anyone else had an idea? |

well as far i know :
ON-ON
Single Pole, Double Throw = SPDT
This switch can be on in both positions, switching on a separate device in each case. It is often called a changeover switch. For example, a SPDT switch can be used to switch on a red lamp in one position and a green lamp in the other position.
A SPDT toggle switch may be used as a simple on-off switch by connecting to COM and one of the A or B terminals shown in the diagram. A and B are interchangeable so switches are usually not labelled.
ON-OFF-ON
SPDT Centre Off
A special version of the standard SPDT switch. It has a third switching position in the centre which is off. Momentary (ON)-OFF-(ON) versions are also available where the switch returns to the central off position when released.
so on first case use only COM and A
on the second case use COM and A
will make a normal ON / OFF |

You underestimate the problem! Thanks for trying to answer it. See-
The normal soundlab recommended switch is DPST or something like that, which means that both the +ve and -ve rails get disconnected at the same time.
I'll just use the bilaterial switches. Better check their current capability on the datasheet though. |
