Welcome. I like the second one a lot. It's got a Roacharian sound kind of like The Magnificent Void. Haven't had a chance to listen to #3. What did you use to create the sounds in #2? Are you the same Rachmiel that's quite active in the NI Reaktor forum?

cool. thanks. :-)

it seems to be the most controversial of the bunch. i really like it, but i think i might be in the minority. i'd be interested in what you think.

> What did you use to create the sounds in #2?

absynth and the antares and quadfrohmage filters.

> Are you the same Rachmiel that's quite active in the NI Reaktor forum?

as far as i know. ;-)

thanks for your comments,

i created a 12-tone row, played it in absynth (a very stark subbass patch), ran it through a number of different antares and quadfrohmage filters, sequenced them (contiguously, as in a passacaglia), and added supportive layers. i tried to preserve the pitch shape of the original melody, but vary it enough to keep the listener engaged.

The Passacaglia is very compelling. Very nice.

no. i tried to remain very simple. there is, however, a reversed layer of the entire passacaglia melody that plays against the original ... ;-)

great to find your music! sTilliFe & 12-tone passacaglia were as you described them and while good tracks, they didn't really hook me. i was more curious about the track you, the composer, liked best & def agree - paTTern recogNition drew me in with its impression of navigating a sonic geography. to the extent that i went to your page and have been downloading ever since Very Happy - a slow process on my modem connection but well worth it. great music.

also liked your woRds essays. excellent philosophies to consider for those starting down the path. and even if there are not many epiphanies for those that have been at it for a few decades, its still an excellent review. as you say... "tabula rasa musical mind"

Cool

i dl'd about an hour of your tracks and put them on the big system. teneBrae immediately took on an entirely dfferent aspect - the bottom end resonance really needed some room in order to appreciate the piece as you probably intended it. great piece. also particularly liked lonelyness. pattern recognition remains a fav. great stuff. glad i found it & have been pointing folks that might also appreciate it in your direction.
