Here is an old experiment reborn. Prior to 1.4, this exact technique produced so much aliasing noise as to render it useless.

Now it works fine, although you might still want to avoid the very high notes.

It is a pair of saw tooth waves feeding a pair of saw tooth phase shifters. There are some curious effects, like if the input frequencies are an octave apart and levels equal, you get a 5th out of the phase shifters.

All variations populated courtesy of one run through the mutator (I hate having to come up with 8 variations myself). No 7 was a nice surprise.

Ian, what is different in this patch between 1.32 and 1.40, other than the patch mutator? Is there something in the modules that reduced the aliasing noise?

Hi Howard

I posted this http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-8071.html in October last year, as a curiosity, because I felt at the time that the aliasing noise made it unusable. It sounds better to me now, but I dont have a recording to verify this. Maybe if someone is still on 1.32, they could record samples before and after the update.

I may just be wrong however Very Happy

it sounds fantastic, especially chords -- reminds me of Gas (wolfgang voigt). and var. 7 IS really nice.

I tried to do an objective comparison of the two G2 releases based on this. See this topic: http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-9746.html
