For some reason, it took me forever to figure out the step sequencer on the Q rack. I think I spent too much time trying to figure it out via the manual. The simplicity of it floored me for some reason. Now I get it. Anybody else find that to be true, or am I just kind of dense?

At first I thought it had to be great - then I read about in the manual and it just seemed too contrived to get into at the time. Perhaps it is worth a renewed attempt... I may well have fresh look at it on the next sitting.

I think the manual makes it sound more difficult than it is. I think the Q manual as a whole is not very well written. However, the Microwave XT manual seems pretty straight forward. Which is amazing since the Microwave is a fairly unusual and complex synth.

I never spent too much time with the manual and just jumped right into using it. It pretty much worked like my JX3P's sequencer worked, so it was fairly intuitive for me.

You've got to love a good polyphonic step sequencer. I've liked it for it's modulation abilities, as well as cool features , such as programming a chords into sequencer and then turning the sequencer off, and triggering chords with sequencer steps, which is great for live shows...

The Q is just an outstanding synth. There are so many features in addition to the great sounds. I don't take full advantage of the sequencer, but I have used it in performance on several occasions. I like the way it the sequencer's pitch can be transposed by merely hitting a key.
