When a patchfile is opened by double-clicking in e.g. Windows Explorer or clicking a patchfile on a web page while the Editor was not started yet the patchfile is loaded in SlotA, but the other Slots are emptied.

I find this a nasty one, as sometimes there are patches in other slots that I hadn't saved yet. Yes, one should always save, I know... But in the heat of the moment one doesn't always save what one is still working on.
So, what happens is that I e.g. browse this forum while the Editor is not opened yet. Then I click on a patch to have a look at it and the Editor opens. The patch gets loaded in SlotA and then: the other three Slots are simply emptied. Oops... Still, when the Editor was actually already open the patchfile loads nicely in the selected Slot and the other Slots are left intact.

Now, is this a bug or a feature? It has always been like this, and afaik no one ever complained. So, bug or not?

/Rob

Seems like a bug to me. Could be heartbreaking.

probably rather a conceptional drawback than a real bug..and therefore a feature... Wink
I also lost work this way ... Defenetly something that should change...
It would be nice if the G2 editor just behaves as the NM1 editor regarding ptch opening and safing.. . The old one was pretty bulletproof against accidantly patch erasion.. like to see the G2 editor optimized regarding this...
So... A "bug"report that might be a good wishlist topic aswell
