Hello, I´m a complete newbi in this world, what I would like to know is what´s the basic equipment for live performance (trip-hop and hip-hop)?

please consider that i DO NOT intend to use a computer.

Do you consider that yamaha RM1X is a good starting point?, if so what should I get to complete it?

The RM1X is great. I would get a laptop to go with it or a sampler-based sequencer like an Electribe for starters.

welcome

The most important thing, IMHO, would be to get a mixer so you can combine multiple sources - synths, microphones, processors, stomp boxes, computers, etc. I like the low-cost Bheringer mixers but there are many alternatives.

Then you need a sound system, unless you are going to rely on the place you play to provide that. You can start out with something as simple as a boom box with and AUX input.

A lot has to do with what kind of music you are making and what kinds of venues are going to have you. Most places accept a stereo or mono feed which is why having your own mixer is convenient.

Mosc is right. A mixer is key.

The sky is the limit. Reason, would be great. Reaktor has some great step sequencers and drum machines. Ableton Live. . .The important thing is to use the midi clock from the RM1X to sync up with the software. That's not hard to do.
