A recent emergence of a keyboardist/composer has set an endurable mark in the field of music by writing and recording his own material in a way that sets him apart from others. Electronic synthesizers are used to create music in many different ways, but Dan Pinto takes it to the extreme in every effort to show his deserving recognition. Case in point calls attention to a movie that he himself produced out of his private studio exclusively for the purpose of writing it's soundtrack.

Not only did Dan use a massive electronic array of equipment to create the audio portion of this movie, but he did it at a time when the proper visual equipment was financially well out of reach. Nevertheless, combined he pulled off the creation of hundreds of special effects in both audio and video to gain enough realism to complete the scenes for his film "Die For A Life." Add with that his talent for producing and engineering the sound which included cross cuts of styles ranging from orchestra to rock and Jazz fusion, and you've got one heck of a feast for the ears. And as it turned out, for the eyes as well. Smile

Dan Pinto first appeared on the Internet at Tower Records with an audio CD he has available titled "Visions," also available at CDBaby.com. http://cdbaby.com/cd/danpinto But more recently he has the critics reeling over his latest release titled "Anomalies." A fusion masterpiece in every respect, details on this release can be found at his website. http://www.danpintomusic.com/DanPintoAnomalies1A.html Anyone who enjoys real sounding keyboard music from a composer who has a dual personality on instrumentation will love this stuff. Dan was originally a drummer/percussionist. This is probably what makes his approach to writing so unique.

Different from many other keyboardists that you hear, Dan Pinto has a background that makes for some interesting reading. Having earlier influences from musicians such as Keith Emerson and Lyle Mays(interesting combo), he comes from a time when all that was known to the common keyboardist were single note Moogs. Even back then, it's been said that he built his own polyphonic keyboard in an attempt to expand his capability. But today his sound is one that stands alone. An acoustic pianist at heart, he doesn't let the electronics stand in the way of the composing effort... and it shows! Just listen to one of his piano pieces.

The bottom line here is that this is a combined electronic & acoustic composing wizard with multiple added talents that should be recognized. His website is a very informative place to see, hear and read about his music, background and experience. It has many in depth details about the making of his film and covers all of his officially released material. You will also find an interesting sit-down interview with Keith Emerson that Dan Pinto was asked to chime in on, personal studio information, a full discography of Dan's work and much more!
