This is at work, where I've been assembling and testing my Blacet kits (after hours, of course):

I've got some amazing and expensive gear here that I'd never, ever buy for myself. Three high powered ( > 3GHz ) computers, an Audio Precision system 2700 (roughly $30,000!!) and a nice Tektronix scope and power supply. Ther items include snacks, water, and M-Audio FireWire 410, Sennhieser HD-580 headphones, and on the cart on the right edge of the picture there is a super secret device (x2) that will be in many living rooms next year. I'd get in big trouble if I ever let anybody know what it is, but feel free to guess Smile

I wish I had room for a nice bench like this at home. Oh, and the money to buy the equipment.... Neutral

OK folks, here is my electronics workbench. I keep it fairly well equipped and also use it occasionally for work prototyping. I also use it to pursue my hobby, electronics and electronic music! It is located within my studio. I enjoy it being in the same workspace, especially when I am developing a musical circuit, like tuning oscillators, or building commercially available synthesizer modules.

My favorite piece of gear on the bench is a mixed signal oscilloscope from HP. It has two high speed analog channels and 16 digital channels which can be combined to perform some advanced triggering on complex events. Great for analog and microprocessor work! I plan to add an Agilent a quad-channel TDS series DPO in the near future. Another scope I own is an HP DSO with vertical amplifiers that have 150 MHz BW. There is also an HP 1650 (84) channel logic analyzer in there also.

Like I said, I use this equipment professionally so the bench needs to be well equipped.

Not to mention that my other half, Robin, is the ultimate craftswoman when it comes to surface mount soldering Very Happy She is BY FAR my most favorite piece of "GEAR" Laughing Great team right??

Thats all folks !!!!

Thanks for the opportunity to let me post these pictures! You are all a wonderful bunch of people,

Sincerely,
Bill

Man, I wish I had a workbench at home that looked like that. My current apartment is so small that my studio takes up all of the available gear space. At home there's no scope, no power supply, and not even room to plug in my soldering iron. I've got to do all of that stuff at work, and I only want to bring in so much stuff, so my protoboards, component kits, tools, etc, are all in storage Sad

Hopefully when I move at the end of this year, I'll be able to find a place (that I can afford) with an extra room in it. Then I can pull my workbench out of storage, assemble it, and pile up the test equipment. It's hard to feel inspired to do creative things with electronics when I have to stay late at work and use their equipment. Neutral

Anyway, nice shots, and nice setup. Once day my home studio will have a very similar workbench loaded with equipment and electronics parts. Smile

Ditto. I feel uneasy when I can see the floor....

Nice pics, though.

Hey, I used one of those HP oscope/logic analyzer combos. Fast & easy to use. I remember there were 2 secret key combos - one would draw a raster photo of a badger on there, along with the names of the development team, the other let you play centipede!! Nice easter eggs in that mixed signal scope, especially during the "down time" at work Smile

Here's a link to some older photos of my Studio-Lab:
http://files.electro-music.com/phpbb-files/thegrotto_comp.jpg

I also have a weller soldering station and a Dynon Instr. multi-purpose USB device (http://www.dynoninstruments.com/. In general, I like to keep my electronics stuff "portable", since I end up doing alot of work at friends houses, or in my kitchen where there's more air & light (but where my wife won't let me keep everything laid out!). Maybe I'll assemble all of that into a picture...then I'll know what I have Smile Smile Smile

Yes, but when the high poobah cruises through after hours and sees you working diligently at your bench, he'll think "Now that's dedication!"

Very Happy

I'm thankful for my friend who gave me the workbench. My old one was a 2x6 about 4 feet long in my kitchen.

Cheers v-un-v! I tip one back to you and the boys across the pond!
