By "saturate" do you mean "fry the transistor"? I guess I'm really looking at 3v, since I'm looking to use a button cell cr2032 battery (the particular case I'm looking at won't really fit larger).

Do I think it might be safer to put a resistor in front of Q1 as well? Will these affect the sound, in your opinion?

A CR2032 probably won't be able to deliver enough current to hurt anything. But if you want it to last, you'll need to get the sound you like with the least current flow anyway. So experiment with putting resistors on the Col. of Q2, and the Base of Q1 to start with. Everything you do will affect the sound, but that's a good thing! Cool

The other thing is, on the 4093 schem, each section has two pins going in to one out. The schem I put above only seems to indicate one "in". So I'm a bit confused there.

http://www.play-hookey.com/digital/experiments/rtl_schmitt.html

For my above question, what I meant was that "each 'Schmitt trigger' section has two pins going in to one out" on the 4093. Yet the schem for the trigger I posted here only seems to indicate one "in". Also, there are two schematics posted under "Schmitt trigger" there, it seems to me the first one is an oscillator, while the second one is just the trigger.. Is this correct?

Yeah, it might be easier to get the chip, but I've got a ton of transistors and resistors right now, I don't see much point in buying something else. Besides, there something to be said for a challenge.

The WSG is definitely on my list, too.

Thanks all
