hey guys, I am new here.. I thought I'd share a funny song I just made with my new soundlab. I also decided to leave this thread open for people to post audio made with thier SLs.

this track is all sequenced through cv with a fatcontroller and a 101 and then multitracked. A bit of first, but otherwise no effects.

a bit of switched on classic rock for you all. Wink

Re. the stickiness ... when you go to the media page and then next to "Show media in these forums:" select "all forums", then click on the "forum" tab header to sort on it, next scroll to "DIY Synths" or to "Soundlab" you could find the soundlab and the DIY related media files.

Maybe having an entry like "DIY + Soundlab" in the selection box would be a good idea ? Like in "better than having a sticky thread" ?

that's sounds quite complicated Smile- and i think it's a fact that most of people that come to SL-forum stays on SL-forum Sad so i don't think many of us know about the media page...

made this sticky but, lets hope that people from this part of forum start to explore also the other parts of our great forum.

Hey guys, glad you like the tune. Its pretty dead silly, but I just wrote it as a response to a friend of mine into the the DIY thing, and he said he'd heard that the soundlabs were cool, but not really musical. Ironically, my favorite part of making it was the snare sound which was the simplest part to synthesize.

No pics as of yet, but here's where I expose myself as a poser and say that I actually didn't build it....but bought a built one from Alan M (the suitcase Synthi-looking one). I would have liked to build my own, but to be honest still not much good at electronics aside from basic bending, and very busy...but very much a synth geek.

That being said, I do enjoy reading the forum and seeing everyone's creations, and figured that the best way for me to contribute to the forum would be to post SL creations since I can't offer tips or modifications.

Thx again, cheers

Mike

The media page is written by me, so it's easy to modify. Anyhow, if you want to see just mp3s on the Sound Lab forum (forum 99, BTW) just use this link

Hoohah! Those sounds remind me of what I like about synths, in a synthpop-kinda way. Very much a sort of happy Vince Clarke-ish sound ("Just can't get enough" anyone?). I love it when pop music sounds like that... Cool

just finished the waterproof soundlab http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-11872.html. there are still some things to do (midi2voltage converter adjustments, replace faulty pot in the mixer section) but the SL itself works.
to proof that i just made a OMDstyle? SL live performance (without sequencer, 5 track + reverb/delay):

cheers,
matthias

Nice one, Fonik! For some reason it made me think of Velvet Underground...

Here's mine:

http://www.christiancoriolis.dk/coriolis_numre/More_Space.mp3

No sequencer, no midi, no fine-tuners on the osc. All I had was a metronome track in Cubase that I used for a trigger signal to get at least a bit of automation. It's rather long and not very melodic, and it's only claim to fame is that it's the first track I've done with the SL. Bit of reverb and delay added, but otherwise just multitracked SL.

Edit: Forgot underscore in filename, should work now.

Why thank you very much people!
Though I think I will need to work on my hand-twiddling-of-tuning-knob-technique If I want to play faster note changes than that!

Well, just bought a Paia midi2cv kit, so that may change...

Let's hear some more tracks!

I like this a lot. It reminds me of november növelet, especially their album "from heaven on earth." That album is highly recommended by me, by the way. One of the best albums ever. Hauntingly, frighteningly beautiful.

This is very nice. A driving rhythm, but calming sounds. It would be good music night-time cruising in the car, especailly on a spooky foggy night Very Happy

Yo, How's it going? I finally got around to doing a little recording. Here's a little info. I used a not so fast 733mhz or so PC/not much Ram and I picked up the freeware Kristal Audio Engine. I recommend it for anyone who has an older comp like me. It's real easy to use and supports tons of VST plug ins. Now on to the song (if you can call it that) more of a piece or a potpourri of all my DIY synth/noise instruments.
Firstly it starts out with 3 simple Soundlab tracks: Long ramp LFO, Filter A/R noise and S&H using manual trigger. Then we go into some CrackleBox with an over dub of Atari Punk Console, and on to some Theremin (boards that v-un-v had available) with alittle Weird sound generator to finish it off. No effects. Hope you enjoy I had fun putting it together its been a long time since I've done any recording. I made it sound like its long its only, maybe a minute and a half.
