Any kind of feedback, ok ...

Theatrical, is that a valid word ?

Anyway I like it, although for others this might be a case of "handbags on the floor", for other reasons though than for the patch you yourself used such words for Very Happy

What would you like to do better ? There are moments it is better and other moments are less, but a god without a devil is pretty useless.

I think it has a good balance.

Maybe a larger overall structure ?

the process involved a lot of random controller information, in other words, i'm setting up parameters, controllers and levels that i have no genuine insight into.

on a "let's just see what happens" level it's satisfying. i quite like tweaking stuff i don't 100% understand. but then i see patches like Rob's that seem to go on forever, have an element of the random in them, but stay tidily within given parameters.

i'll post up a .prf of Rob's for you to compare to mine when i have more time... it's an interesting comparison. there are still some modules that i'm not exploiting to anywhere near their "correct" potential... Sad

When you have a specific one in mind, otherwise ... I know Rob's patches in general of course, and yes he is in control generally Very Happy

This doesn't mean of course that other patches put together with less control will automatically sound bad. It might take more time when you don't know the math maybe.

I like the in tune one, but made a couple of simple changes to make it more pleasant to my ears.

1) split the two phase shifters in slot B to be stereo - left and right. Needed to replace your output mixer for that.

2) slot a was distorting so I adjusted the levels a bit, and disconnected the modulations from the stereo delay times which was generating some noise.

3) other changes in knob settings I can't remember... Confused

I was wondering Stanley, as you posted some very nice mp3's here with patches that you tweaked in real time, would it maybe be a better working aproach for you, when you want to make noodly patches, to reserve one slot for MIDI automation of the other three ?

yeah, i've noticed other patchers doing this. regularly enough for the penny to drop that it might be a good idea to try, but something in me tells me it's not the best way to work.

realistically it's the gaps in my total understanding of MIDI that prevent me from progressing further than i should. i know i could learn, but every little new thing i learn how to do keeps me occupied for quite a while.

i'm still having fun with cross-modulation, and i only learnt the technique 8 or so weeks ago (thanks whoever explained it...). i'm now actually trying to avoid using it in all my performances in a bid to free up my energy to learn something new........ Razz

ok. next performance i will follow your suggestions.
