A simple RC-portamento circuit is nothing but a LPF, right? Confused

So is it possible to add a resonance feedback to a RC-portamento circuit (like CV1 in the schematics from http://www.musicfromouterspace.com/analogsynth/SEQ16_2005/SEQ16_2005.html#SCHEMATICS)?
or do I need a more complex portamento-circuit?

It'd be cool with a bouncing CV Rolling Eyes

Not sure if it´s useful. Just tried what happens if i use my state variable to filter the cv from my sequencer. Normal portamento. With the resonance turned up the filter starts to oscillate, so you can get fm sounds out of it. You can get those by using another osc as modulation source just the same.

You could just feed the output back into the input of the circuit, using a pot to limit it. That's resonance (feedback) oversimplified, but it might work.

FWIW, I've played with feeding sequencer CVs through VCFs. The one I had fun results with was my SSM2044 vcf which doesn't block signal inputs in the DC range. 4 poles of portamento and cv-able resonance made for very rubbery sequences... to the point of being cartoon like.

The Thomas Henry/Magic Smoke Mankato filter does the cool stunt that Romeo is talking about. In fact, there are taps at the various stages to get this slew in, for want of a better term, quadrature. Very wacky indeed.

I certainly wish it were. Tim mentioned that he's on the verge of getting it up on Magic Smoke.

We'll see.....
