Gltchy WSG questions |
|
|
First shot at the WSG is completed (on radioshack perfboard, with point to point wiring no less). It makes some great noises so far, also it is obviously not functioning completely!!!
1. The filter pot is having no effect at all.
2. A few of the pots are only active in the last 20 degrees or so of rotation, muting its functionality in the other region of rotation.
I think this covers it, forgive me as I finished late late last night and didn't have much chance to do much beyond check most of the connections (all were fine). I intend to do some more in depth troubleshooting this evening and was hoping to go home armed with suggestions of where to look first.
Thanks,
matthew |

I kinda think this might be typical, unless mine is not working right either. With mine depending how its set up sometimes some pots don't do much. But if I fiddle around all the pots will do something. _________________ "your stripes are killer bro" |

Yes, I too have one knob with that 20-degree rotation deal- kind of. I found that it actually works the full range, but it seems to be exponential. I can't remember which does which (Wacky, Zany, etc), but it's the one that can only be used when flipping the toggle switch. The intervals you can adjust with that feature can be set SOOOOOOO slowly because of its exponential setup. _________________ One Player Game | OPG on SoundCloud |

No, that's the weird thing. I'd have to look at the schematics again to see where the pinouts of that IC are going. _________________ One Player Game | OPG on SoundCloud |

Next to the value there will be a letter: -
A is Log
B is Linear
C is Antilog, (and if you ever find one of these you've probably been teleported into an episode of the Twilight Zone! Rare as hens teeth)
B used to be Log, and A used to be Linear, but they swapped them around so there would be less confusion
BTW if the letter is missing, a linear pot will read half it's overall resistance when turned half way. A log pot will be no where near it. _________________ What makes a space ours, is what we put there, and what we do there. |
