I'm planning to add a vactrol (LED+LDR) to my circuit bent Speak&Spell '78.Could someone explain me how and where add it?

That would depend on what you want it to do. If you want it to control pitch, then you should find some of the schematics on the net that explains how to put a pitch potentiometer in the S&S and then just replace the potentiometer with the two wires going to the LDR. You would of course need something to control the amount of light the LED is emitting to control the pitch, a simple oscillator for instance.
