Listening to this carefully through 43 years of crackles, I can hear some magnificent compression - especially on the guitar, most probably a Les Paul Junior played through a Fender Bassman or similar. A year or so later, the band had an organ added but something was lost then.

Sure doesn't seem like the run of the mill for '63. A bit more 'dangerous' and edgey than the music I associate from this era.


Of course, truth be known, the music I would associate from 1963 on a personal level would be "Old McDonald Had a Farm" and "Ring Around the Rosey" Very Happy
