Just a guess can't really find it in the manual, but maybe in "synth settings" sending controllers is off ? Well its the closest thing I could find. _________________ Jan

This function not implemented in OS
Transmit only controllers, note, velocity, arpegio, midi clock
After touch and pitch wheel not controllers, this is extended midi parameter
New typ for Clavia developer OS 1.5
- update this very big bug |

My G2 transmits the pitch stick data OK, no problem here.
Regarding the aftertouch, I use it in an unusual way, but this may help you too:
I like to add some slewing to the aftertouch response so it has a longer decay after you release the note. This is more musical on patches that have a long release, so the aftertouch doesn't suddenly shut off while the note is still decaying. To do this, I use the "DEVICE" module in a patch to access the aftertouch signal, and then patch this signal through an envelope follower. I then patch the EnvFol output to a Midi Send module and assign the processed aftertouch signal to a cc#.
If you can't get the aftertouch to work in the normal way, you could use this method of using the DEVICE module and re-assigning the aftertouch signal to a cc# and set the receiving device to use this same cc#. _________________ Dave Peck |

So you mean Pitchbend and AT from the Kawai is going into the Engine, but is not coming back out? Maybe I do not understand, but it sounds like maybe you should be using the midi THRU connector on the Engine, not the midi OUT connector? _________________ Dave Peck |

Ah, I understand. That IS a problem. And the idea of the midi modules could not be used because those will only access the pitch bend & AT data that is generated inside the G2, not from something connected to the midi in, and the Engine does not generate these signals.
If this really is a bug and the G2 is losing the data that is coming in, then maybe there is a way to use a simple midi merge box to combine the pitchbend & AT from the Kawai with the final processed midi from the G2? I know it is clumsy, but maybe it would work. Wow, that is a major bug. _________________ Dave Peck |

Not so simple I guess, at least in general, unless the merger could be made to filter certain data.
It really makes the G2 less useful as a MIDI processor. _________________ Jan
