Is there any gate to trigger generator out there that works on 5V single supply? Confused

If you have a check of some of Ken Stone's modules such as the Gate Seq he uses LM358s to condition the clock and reset inputs --- this is a very useful little circuit and should be fine to work (maybe with a few little value changes) on 5v supply I'd have thought..

Actually -- he's got a dedicated Gate to Trigger module

Yes I know about that module, but it runs on 12-15V. I could try to breadboard it for 5V and see if it works Smile

Hi. Think it should work. Actually, what turns the gate to the trigger is the cab and the resistor at the beginning. Remember, the cab only lets ac pass. The gate is DC. Except for the very first moment - when it changes from 0 to whatever (eg 5v). That little step "passes" the cab. In this case to fire the comparator-opamp. Could also use a cmos gate.

Aha! of course! Now I see Rolling Eyes Does the cap react when the gate goes low too? and lets that through? Confused

Tell me if i´m wrong, but i say no because
The 100k resistor on the right of the cab, by the opamp, will pull the right side of the cab, and the opamps input, low. So all you get is a short burst of positive voltage, just enough to fire the comparator. Little enough for the resistors to quickly discharge the whole thing, making the comp jump back again.
If the gate does not go low to 0v, but say to -5v (eg when it comes from an lfo) the diode will jump in. otherwise you would get a second negative pulse.
