Hi,
what are the most common and available analog delay ICs? Never worked with one, so I don't know where to start...
Bye,

Well, check Small bear Electronics out. They have a nice selection of delay and echo IC's. The link below shows what they have in stock. I ordered the Holtek Echo and Pitch Shifter IC's. I also ordered the Mitsubishi Delay Echo IC. SME had all of them in stock and shipped fast.
The most common delays were (still are popular) the BBD or Bucket Brigade Devices that created the delay on the pricipal of shifting a charge (the incoming audio signal) on a capacitor to the next one in line based on some 2 phase clock input period. If you had enough capacitors in line and the right clock frequency, you then create a sonically perceptible delay. Newer techniques now use digital memories as the delay element. Multitap delays are my favorite!
Here is the link to get some cool BBD IC's. get some and PLAY !!!

Thanks State Machine.
Unfortunately I'm in Germany. Ordering from Small bear Electronics would be to cumbersome I think.
Do you (or someone else) know BBD Delays which are common in any good (or big) electronic shop, or are they rare to get?
Bye

Oh that's a cool link! May be useful for me too..
Small Bear is perfectly ok for international orders though..
I've never gotten round to using the MN3xxx chips - I've really liked the PT2399 - digital but cool especially when you clock it right down low mmmmm - there's threads about the PT2399.. _________________ http://www.bugbrand.co.uk

I realize that pointing folks who are overseas to US based websites is not the best choice. Is this bad etiquette? Not sure ....
