Reading the manual I'm pretty sure I can't turn off transmission of aftertouch when playing external gear from my G2X?

Am I right?

Looks like it, but you could make a patch to do it.

Yes, and then I'll loose the pitch bend as well. Too bad.
It's a bit unfortunate because most sequencers can filter out aftertouch when recording but not MPC1000 which is the one I use.

I'll have to invest in a Midi Solutions Event Processor.

Please keep us posted on that one, it seems to be an interesting device.

I have a MIDI solutions event processor, midi merger (and power supply -- note you need to get one if you connect it to the midi outputs of a Nord G2 since there is a known issue about the Nords not sending enough power over MIDI to run the device. the power supply costs $25CAN)

The boxes are made in vancouver, canada to boot.

I use the even processor (which has up to 8 mappings, and I only use 3) to convert CC to pitchbend so my g2 sends pitchbend to my other gear. Also the device converts another cc to a sysex for selecting patterns of my rs7000.

it can filter, scale and do so much more with midi events but it does not do everything (like limited range input to a limited range output of midi variables).

I use the midi merger to merge the midi outs of both G2's into on midi out which goes into the rs7000 so both g2's can send midi to anything else in the studio simultaneously.

a useful set of devices. If you have any questions, let me know.
