Subject description: Looking for very specific sequencer

Hi all

I'm looking for tips and advice about buying a new sequencer program. I'll explain why. I use Cakewalk 9 at the moment, which absolutely meets my requirements apart from the fact that it has a tendency not to save controller data, particularly when it's stored within its own track. Notes - fine. Patch changes - yep. Controller data - depends on the phase of the moon.

So I'm thinking about laying my hands on a new sequencer, as this issue is driving me to distraction. What I'm looking for is really, really simple:

-piano roll view
-simple interface for adding patch changes, controller data, NRPNs etc
-cheap or even better, free!

I'm not really interested in buying some kind of top of the range mega sequencer that has its own effects, can do plugins etc because I will not use it that way. I want it to be a simple MIDI sequencer with an easy to use interface, and no other bells and whistles that I can think of.

If anyone can make any recommendations that would be very helpful.

Thanks

Dovder

v-un-v:

Hmmm. Although it appears to be able to output MIDI externally, I couldn't get it to work and it wasn't mentioned at all in the documentation. I also think 10 tracks may be a little limited for my complex, multilayered musical environmentations.

Thank you for the suggestion though, I appreciate it! Very Happy

Cheers
