My name is Matt, born in Scotland I moved to Australia when I was 10 and recently moved to Berlin for an engineering internship 2 months ago.

I've dabbled with Ableton a little over the last 6 months but properly started making tracks about 2 months ago in my spare time.

Artists that have inspired me include an obvious (now seemingly stereotypical one, Nicolas Jaar, as well as Benjah, Solpara and plenty of more inspirations from jazz to psytrance. My music is constantly changing, we live in a world with so much that's it's hard to stop searching. For more see https://soundcloud.com/stedding/sets/mixes.

Here are two tracks I would consider my best so far that I would love for you to have a listen. I recorded samples for both tracks either using my laptop mic or iPhone voice recorder before chopping them and adding effects.

Close Your Eyes [Experimental/Ambient/Techno(In that order)]

This track is like a two-for-one deal, It has two major halfs. Part one is designed to put you into a chilled out trance, enforcing the listener (hopefully) to literally close their eyes. It's definitely a head phones track up until the second half where the listener might "wake up" and then it’s party time.

Confetti [Inspired by Germans and Acid (not Germans on Acid)]

This track was inspired after going to a club in Berlin called Heideglühen. At around 8am on a Saturday a giant bed with barriers around it like a baby cradle was brought on the dance floor, everyone got silly inside it with feathers from pillows and confetti being thrown everywhere. It was a celebration of life and a release from reality and inspired me to make something a little fun, ridiculous, and silly.

Thanks for your time and kind regards,

Matt/Stedding
