Gate bus 1 load can be very useful when you don't want 8 or 16 steps. If you think you'll always be in 8 or 16 steps, then leave it out.
I managed to forget to make space for the random level indicator. I haven't ever missed it, though. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

Luka,
You can still get the very same effect by patching either the trigger or gate output of one of the gate busses back to the external load input. Technically the Gate Bus 1 load switch works off the internal merged gate bus 1 signal, so the effect will be pretty much the same.
