Should the value of a knob remain the same when a morph is assigned to it?

This has been bugging me since I started using Morphs, which is about 1/2 hour after I opened the box.

Whenever I assign a morph on a knob.. the knob's base value jumps to zero. This means that my carefully adjusted settings go out the window when I add a morph.

I'd like to see the initial value retained when a morph assignment is made. Wouldn't you?

This has been a bit of a problem for me too, but I figured there was some trick that you could use to do what you describe. Apparently not...

Select the morph group you want by clicking on the respective knob in the top right of the editor, then click twice on the knob you want to assign, holding down the second click. When you drag the mouse with the second click held down, the knob will be assigned to the current morph group, and as you drag the mouse around you will be setting the morph range relative to the knob's current value.

Or press the control key while you click. On my laptop's touch pad I have to usr CTRL + one-and-a-half clicks (taps, actually).

This is the same combination as is needed to pull wires out of connectors (e.g. to break a connection by dragging).

Jan.
