So there are a bunch of home keyboards that are programmable in a synthesizer ish kind of way and I personally have some of them (Casio HT-700, Yamaha PSS-470, Casio CZ-230S), so what else is out there that I propably don't know about? Just today I found out that the Casio 1000P is essentially a additive synthesizer with programmable patches Shocked I used to think it was a plain preset machine. You learn something new every day lol. So, yeah If you know of any other "consumer synths", post em here, if possible with (links to) description, audio/video demos.

Some of Casio's keyboards have limited programmability and interesting features. The CTK900 is a good one, especially as it has a ring-modulator, which surprises many people. As well as the typical clangy stuff it can have an almost vocal breathyness at times, as can be heard on `Birds' on my website (http://sweep.infinite9ths.com/). The CTK900 can also import WAV samples via a PC. Not massively useful, but batteries in the CTK900 let you go into the street and play Fairlight sounds when busking.

Some of the Yamaha organs have limited FM programability (manuals are available online which should help). Some of the HS series, I think, but I may be mis-remembering. Also organs like the later Yamahas which have MIDI bass pedals may be a cheap source of bass pedals to control a MIDI synth, though I've never done that.
